THREE LESSONS

1-   The Frogs:

A farmer came into town and askedthe owner of a restaurant if he could use a million frog legs. The restaurantowner was shocked and asked the man where he could get so many frog legs!

The farmer replied, "There is apond near my house that is full of frogs - millions of them. They all croak allnight long and they are about to make me crazy!"

So the restaurant owner and thefarmer made an agreement that the farmer would deliver frogs to the restaurant,five hundred at a time for the next several weeks. The first week, the farmerreturned to the restaurant looking rather sheepish, with two scrawny littlefrogs.

The restaurant owner said,"Well... where are all the frogs?"

The farmer said, "I wasmistaken. There were only these two frogs in the pond. But they sure weremaking a lot of noise!

Lesson 1:

[Next time you hear somebodycriticizing or making fun of you, remember, it's probably just a couple ofnoisy frogs. Also remember that problems always seem bigger in the dark. Haveyou ever laid in your bed at night worrying about things which seem almostoverwhelming like a million frogs croaking? Chances are pretty good that whenthe morning comes, and you take a closer look, you'll wonder what all the fusswas about.]

2-   The Turtles:

A turtle family decided to go on apicnic. Turtles, being naturally slow about things, took seven years to preparefor their outing. Finally the turtle family left home looking for a suitableplace.

During the second year of theirjourney they found a place ideal for them at last! For about six months theycleaned the area, unpacked the picnic basket, and completed the arrangements.Then they discovered they had forgotten the salt. A picnic without salt wouldbe a disaster, they all agreed.

After a lengthy discussion, theyoungest turtle was chosen to retrieve the salt from home. Although he was thefastest of the slow moving turtles, the little turtle whined, cried, andwobbled in his shell. He agreed to go on one condition: that no one would eatuntil he returned. The family consented and the little turtle left.

Three years passed and the littleturtle had not returned. Five years... six years... then on the seventh year ofhis absence, the oldest turtle could no longer contain his hunger. He announcedthat he was going to eat and begun to unwrap a sandwich.

At that point the little turtlesuddenly popped out from behind a tree shouting, "See! I knew you wouldn'twait. Now I am not going to go get the salt”.

Lesson 2:

[Some of us waste our time waitingfor people to live up to our expectations. We are so concerned about whatothers are doing that we don't do anything ourselves.]

3-   The Pretty Lady:

Once upon a time a big monk and alittle monk were traveling together. They came to the bank of a river and foundthe bridge was damaged. They had to wade across the river.

There was a pretty lady who wasstuck at the damaged bridge and couldn't cross the river. The big monk offeredto carry the pretty lady across the river on his back. The lady accepted.

The little monk was shocked by themove of the big monk. "How can big brother carry a lady when we aresupposed to avoid all intimacy with females?" thought the little monk. Buthe kept quiet.

The big monk carried the lady acrossthe river and the small monk followed unhappily. When they crossed the river,the big monk let the pretty lady down and they parted ways with her.

All along the way for several miles,the little monk was very unhappy with the act of the big monk. He was making upall kinds of accusations about the big monk in his head. This got him madderand madder. But he still kept quiet. And the big monk had no inclination toexplain his situation.

Finally, at a rest point many hourslater, the little monk could not stand it any further, he burst out angrily atthe big monk. "How can you claim yourself a devout monk, when you seizethe first opportunity to touch a female, especially when she is very pretty?All your teachings to me make you a big hypocrite."

The big monk looked surprised andsaid, "I had put down the pretty lady at the river bank many hours ago,how come you are still carrying her along?"

Lesson 3:

[This very old Chinese Zen storyreflects the thinking of many people today. We encounter many unpleasant thingsin our life, they irritate us and they make us angry. Sometimes, they cause usa lot of hurt; sometimes they cause us to be bitter or jealous. But like thelittle monk, we are not willing to let them go away. We keep on carrying thebaggage of the "pretty lady" with us. We let them keep on coming backto hurt us, make us angry, make us bitter and cause us a lot of agony.

Why? Simply because we are notwilling to put down or let go of the baggage of the "pretty lady". Weshould let go of the pretty lady immediately after crossing the river that isafter the unpleasant event is over. This will immediately remove all ouragonies. There is no need to be further hurt by the unpleasant event after itis over.]

A young man sprinkling his lawn and bushes with pesticides wanted to check the contents of the barrel to see how much pesticide remained in it. He raised the cover and lit his lighter; the vapors inflamed and engulfed him. He jumped from his truck, screaming. His neighbor came out of her house with a dozen eggs, yelling: "bring me some eggs!" She broke them, separating the whites from the yolks. The neighbor woman helped her to apply the whites on the young man's face. When the ambulance arrived and when the EMTs saw the young man, they asked who had done this. Everyone pointed to the lady in charge. They congratulated her and said: "You have saved his face." By the end of the summer, the young man brought the lady a bouquet of roses to thank her. His face was like a baby's skin.

Healing Miracle for burns:

Keep in mind this treatment of burns which is included in teaching beginner fireman this method. First aid consists to spraying cold water on the affected area until the heat is reduced and stops burning the layers of skin. Then, spread egg whites on the affected are.

One woman burned a large part of her hand with boiling water. In spite of the pain, she ran cold faucet water on her hand, separated 2 egg white from the yolks, beat them slightly and dipped her hand in the solution. The whites then dried and formed a protective layer.

She later learned that the egg white is a natural collagen and continued during at least one hour to apply layer upon layer of beaten egg white. By afternoon she no longer felt any pain and the next day there was hardly a trace of the burn. 10 days later, no trace was left at all and her skin had regained its normal color. The burned area was totally regenerated thanks to the collagen in the egg whites, a placenta full of vitamins.

Islamic Microfinance Model Needs Changing

This article outlines steps for the development of Islamic microfinance. Islamic microfinance is still in its infancy with less than one percent of total global microfinance outreach, despite increasing demand for Islamic microfinance products. Challenges in reaching sustainable scale are mainly due to the not-for-profit culture of Islamic microfinance intermediaries.

The paper recommends that Islamic microfinance should shift from a charity-based, donor-dependent approach to a market-based, for-profits approach to become sustainable. Further, it should separate the role of donors’ funds from that of private capital and use grants only as temporary start-up support. Other recommendations include:

Donors should focus their support on capacity building;
Private sector should contribute to achieving providers’ goals by contributing high quality services at reasonable price;
Market mechanism should be devised to kick start the whole process of Islamic microfinance and help bridge the gap between demand and possible investors.

The paper states that these measures will help to provide financial access to millions of Muslim poor and reach poverty alleviation targets of the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals.

Wengi wanaamini kuwa tumeshatumbukia kwenye lindi la mazoea ambapo hatuwezi kujitoa mpaka upepo uje ubadilike wenyewe!.

Mimi nafikiri wasomi tuna jukumu muhimu la kuwa chachu ya mabadiliko pale ambapo mazoea yenye madhara yanavuka mipaka na kuweza hata kuwa chanzo cha ufukara na kuviza maendeleo.

Ili kubadilisha hili jambo, lazima tuanzie mahali. Mimi napendeleza na kuanza kutekeleza. Kuanzia Januari 2011, nitapunguza michango ninayotoa. Nitatoa tu kwa mtu wa karibu sana , na nitachanga kidogo. Usishangae nikakuchangia 20,000/= kama ulitegemea 50,000/= kwa mfano. Kuanzia July 2011, nitaacha kabisa kuchangia sherehe. Badala yake nitakuwa nachangia elimu pale ambapo mzazi hayupo au mhusika kweli hana uwezo na pia nitachangia miradi mingine ya jamii na maendeleo.

Fewer people are becoming infected with HIV. Millions of people have
gained access to HIV treatment. More women are now able to prevent their
babies from becoming infected with HIV. Travel restrictions for people
living with HIV are being lifted by many countries, as stigma gives way --
still too slowly -- to compassion and recognition of human rights.

With commitment and solidarity, this movement is helping the world turn
the corner on the AIDS epidemic. We have finally reached the first part of
Millennium Development Goal 6 -- by halting and beginning to reverse the
spread of HIV. We must continue to chart a new and bold path ahead.

Our common goal is clear: universal access to HIV prevention, treatment,
care and support. We must also work to make the AIDS response sustainable.

Three decades into this crisis, let us set our sights on achieving the
“three zeros” -- zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination and zero
AIDS-related deaths. On this World AIDS Day, let us pledge to work
together to realize this vision for all of the world’s people.

Avoiding Futile Competition

Seeing everyone as your competitor has two negative consequences. First, it isolates you and your efforts, putting a full burden on your shoulders that others could help you bear; and second, it means you waste energy trying to set others back rather than using that energy to push yourself forward.

Consider the following true story by Frank Koch in an issue of Proceedings, the magazine of the United States Naval Institute. Two battleships assigned to the training squadron had been at sea on maneuvers in heavy weather for several days. Koch was serving on the lead battleship and was standing watch on the bridge as night fell. He recounts his experience.

"The visibility was extremely poor with patchy fog, so the captain remained on the bridge, keeping an eye on our navigation activities.

"Shortly after dark, the lookout on the wing of the bridge reported, 'Light, bearing on the starboard bow!'
"The captain called out, 'Is it steady or moving astern?'
"The lookout replied, 'Steady, captain,' which meant that we were on a collision course with that source of light.
"The captain then called to the signalman, 'Signal that ship: We are on a collision course ... advise you change course 20 degrees.'
"Back came the signal from the other ship. 'Advisable for you to change course 20 degrees!'
"The captain barked, 'Send, I'm a captain ... change course 20 degrees immediately.'
" 'I'm a seaman second class,' came the reply. 'You had better change course 20 degrees!' "By this time, the captain was furious. He spat out, 'Send, I'm a battleship. Change course 20 degrees.'
"Back came the signal from the flashing light, 'I'm a lighthouse.'
"The captain changed course."

The moral of the story is that it is futile to try to set others back when you could turn yourself 20 degrees and go forward!

This is intended for sales managers and had advice about setting up a sales team to encourage the kind of personable sales style — a combination of determination and likeability — that Leno uses.

RULE #1: Failure is never permanent. Leno wasn’t an overnight sensation. Some of his early performances on Carson’s Tonight Show were weak and he didn’t appear on television for years. But he kept honing his skills and eventually became a regular guest on Letterman’s show, eventually earning him a guest host gig on Tonight, which led to his current success.

RULE #2: Work is better than vacation. Leno is famous for spending his free time doing personal appearances that help his career. He seldom, if ever, takes vacations although he is quite generous in giving vacations to his staff. The truth is that, unlike people who see work as a way to fund other “fun” activities, Leno see work as something that’s fun all by itself.

RULE #3: Fake it before you make it. Leno has a history of sticking his neck out to further his career. For example, when Leno was just beginning to appear regularly on television, his career got a big public relations boost when he was selected “Best Face to Caricature” by the “American Caricature Association,” an organization that he invented.

RULE #4: Everyone is a potential customer. Unlike celebrities who remain distant from their public, Leno makes a point of being accessible. He invariably waves and smiles when he’s spotted in driving one of his many rare automobiles. When hired for speeches, he greets and shakes the hands of as many people as possible.

RULE #5: Give back to the community. One way that Leno builds his image as a likeable guy is to dedicate time to community service. For example, Leno has been known to fly at his own expense to Chicago or Detroit to do benefits for the homeless. While Leno’s generosity is clearly genuine, there’s no doubt that it helps his “brand” when people view him as a nice guy.

RULE #6: Be generous with your thank-yous. After the original article appeared, Leno personally called Sellingpower publisher Gerhard Gschwandtner and thanked him for the publishing the article. He didn’t have to do that, but that gives you an indication of how Leno thinks. Leno truly is the nice guy he plays on TV — and that’s why he’s so successful.

Have you been at the main post office in Dar Es Salaam? If yes,
then place yourself along the Maktaba Street at the bus stage.
Turn left, go along the Maktaba Street up to the garden avenue,
cross it, to your left you will see a clothing shop, called Brand
house. Last week I bought clothes at that shop. When I was
shopping, an inside salesperson called chandu, came to me for an
informal conversation. Once he felt he had found out a good
rapport with me, he started to question me:

Chandu: What do you do for a living Felix?

Me: I help salespeople like you to get more commission.

( He smiles...he feels I play his game, the salesmanship-game)

Chandu: How do you do it?

Me: By helping them with ideas and tools that attract more
customers and sell more to existing customers.

Chandu: A sales consultant...is that what you mean?

Me: Yes? I am.

Chandu: Felix, I have always admired consultants, especial their
dressing code. At brand house, we have helped many consultants
and other professionals to dress properly just like you and even
better. We make sure we dress them well by first, advising what
to wear, second, selecting the best combination of clothes ,
third, giving them the best price they can't get anywhere in town
for the same quality.

(I follow him...he then shows me a piece of paper with an
irresistible offer written on it. My plan is to spend around
us$600, however, Chandu tells me that if I buy the package - the
irresistible offer- as written on the paper, I pay only us$300.
Soon after Chandu finishes to tell me his proposal, I reach in my
pocket, pull out a wallet, and I pay him, in cash)

Why I tell you this...! I want you to know that it is easy to
sell an offer than to sell a single-item. If you create an
irresistible offer, and you promote it heavily, your business is
likely to flourish. I believe, most of the time when the sales
are good, your cash flow improves, and you and your employees
feel good.

Does Chandu leverage his offers-promotion skills? - Yes, he
does…I realized that Chandu sells its offer not only at the shop,
but also through other noncompeting businesses outlets that share
similar target group. According to him his main business
discovery towards profitability; he says, is to create and
promote irresistible offers. Should you have the freedom to
choose products to promote, Chandu insists; go for
irresistible-offers.

How do you create an irresistible offer? - You do it in different
ways, however, to borrow from Chandu's idea, I suggest you
develop packages. For example, for him, he packages together more
than five items, and sells at half the price. Not only that, he
also takes time to listen to his prospect s to understand their
needs, wants, dislikes and preferences. To be honest, Chandu
knows the sales-game.

Therefore, if you are in a business, I suggest strongly you add
packages to your normal offerings. For example, if you own a
restaurant, instead of promoting rice and chicken only, offer a
package of rice, chicken, vegetables, juice, fruit salad and
possibly, a discount voucher for the customer's next meal to the
restaurant. Add the individual item-prices to get the
package-price… if you sell it separately. Afterwards, calculate
the package-gross margin; take 50% or less of the gross profit
and discount it from the original package-price to get the
offer-price. For prospects to buy easily, name the offer, and
promote it heavily. Push it actively - inside and outside the
restaurant.

A restaurant is just an example, however, your business may be
different; it is logical for you to be creative, and make unique
packages. To add; use pricing strategies that suits your business
model. Done well…success is all yours.

THE DECISION TO BE REMARKABLE

If you want to break out of the mold of average, the first thing you need to do is to make a decision to be radically different. Most remarkable people are people of action, and for a good reason: if you don't take decisive action, nothing will ever change.

But this first step is entirely mental. It calls for a clear decision to rise above the culture of mediocrity. And then, of course, it calls for action.

How do you decide to be remarkable?

1. Stop making excuses. Just stop. No one wants to hear why you couldn't do something, so make a conscious decision to stop talking about it.

2. Take responsibility. This is the opposite of giving excuses. Take responsibility for your own success, and take responsibility for the success of projects you work on. When something goes wrong (it usually does), take responsibility for that too.

3. Start questioning rules and expectations. Always ask questions and pay close attention to the answers you hear back. Some good starting questions are: Why is this rule in place? Who benefits from this rule being followed? What are the consequences if I don't follow this rule or meet this expectation? What is the worst thing that could happen if I don't follow this rule?

4. Find work that you love and do it well. Depending on who you are, this requires up to two big changes in your life: first, you have to find work that you love, and second, you have to do it well. Do it better than expected and people will be amazed.

5. Begin living your own life. This is what it's all about--the life you were meant to live. If you don't know what that is yet, start looking for it. Why would you want to live someone else's life?

6. Take it up a level. Take what's already working well and exponentially add to it. Grow your business 300%. Apply for the position of CFO when you're the Accounts Payable Clerk. Visit five countries instead of one on your next trip (or if you want to explore one place well, stay three weeks instead of one).

'Have-a-toe-hero' Kiko, a Jack Russell terrier, apparently sensed an infection in Jerry Douthett's right big toe.

And he munched on it while his master was asleep at home in Rockford, Michigan.

A trip to the hospital confirmed Douthett's digit needed amputation and alerted doctors to the fact that he had been suffering from undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes.

Mr Douthett, 48, had been refusing to seek medical treatment for his infected toe for several weeks when the incident happened.

He said he had been working up the courage to see a doctor when he downed several alcoholic drinks during a night out and passed out on his bed.

He woke up to find the dog beside him and a pool of blood near his foot.

"The toe was gone," said Mr Douthett.

"He ate it. I mean, he must have eaten it, because we couldn't find it anywhere else in the house. I look down, there's blood all over, and my toe is gone."

Doctors later discovered that the infection had reached the bone and were forced to amputate what was left of the toe.

Before the surgery, Mr Douthett asked a nurse, "Is there any chance I can get whatever's left of my toe, so I can give it to Kiko as a treat?"

"He's a hero. He pretty much just ate the infection. He saved my life," Mr Douthett told Wood TV, adding he has since sworn off alcohol.

Kiko is still with the family but under observation by authorities.

DISCOVERY OF CROCODILE LIKE MAMMAL IN TANZANIA

This week Tanzania has hit international headlines very well in science world. Here I want to share with you some links and the news itself in a form of press release (see - attachment).

In the ongoing research in Rukwa Rift Basin (small segment of the East African Rift System) a crocodile like mammal have been recently discovered and published in one of internationally leading scientific journal NATURE.

This newly discovered creature that lived more than 100 million years ago has been named: Pakasuchus kapilimai. This is simply due to its resemblance to Paka (cat) and kapilimai – in the honor of one of the most prominent professors in the field of paleontology (old biology) – Late Saidi Kapilima from UDSM.

I hope this is very good and positive news for our country. In the same way other big discoveries like Zinjanthropus boisei by Dr Leakey in Olduvai Gorge (in 1950s) put our country on the map of scientific world, this one will definitely do the same.

(CNN) -- Sam Rogers, from South Africa, has been awarded the top prize at this year's CNN MultiChoice African Journalist 2010 Awards Ceremony.

Sam Rogers, Executive Producer of Factuals -- Crime and Investigation Unit, e.tv, won for her story "Curse of the Nobody People," which was chosen from among 2074 entries from 40 nations across the African continent. "Curse of the Nobody People" focuses on the discrimination and sometimes shocking fate of albinos in Tanzania.

Sam Rogers was one of 27 finalists at the Awards ceremony on Saturday evening and was a winner in the category "Television Features Award."

The Awards, which rotate location each year in tribute to their pan-African credentials, were held at an Awards Ceremony and Gala Evening in Kampala, Uganda this evening, Saturday May 29, 2010.

ISLAMABAD – A passenger jet carrying 152 people crashed into the hills surrounding Pakistan's capital amid rain Wednesday, officials said. At least five people were killed and five wounded, but many more were feared dead.

The cause of the Airblue crash was not immediately clear, said Pervez George, a civil aviation official. He said the plane had left the southern city of Karachi at 7:45 a.m. for a two-hour scheduled flight to Islamabad and was trying to land during difficult weather. Airblue is a private service based in Karachi, Pakistan's largest city.

"The plane was about to land at the Islamabad airport when it lost contact with the control tower, and later we learned that the plane had crashed," George said, adding that the model of the plane was Airbus 321 and the flight number was ED202.

Guards with the forestry service said they had found some wreckage and seen at least five dead bodies, said Imtiaz Inayat Ali, an official with Islamabad's Capital Development Authority. Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said at least five wounded passengers had been rescued.

Pakistani news channels showed what appeared to be wreckage of the plane as a helicopter hovered above the heavily forested hills to assess the situation. Fire was visible and smoke was blowing up from the scene. The army said it was sending special troops to the area to help out along with helicopters.

At the Islamabad airport, hundreds of friends and relatives of those on board the flight swarmed ticket counters desperately seeking information. A large cluster of people also surrounded the list of passengers on the flight, which was posted near the Airblue ticket counter.

"Nobody is guiding anyone. People are running from one counter to another," said Arshad Mahmood, whose brother, Maulana Nawab Ulhasan, a prayer leader in a town near Islamabad, was on the flight.

"I'm praying for his survival, but I think there is little hope," Mahmood said.

Arshad Ali said his cousin, Raza Ali, was supposed to be on the flight but missed it in Karachi on his way from Canada.

"We are happy he missed the flight, but things here are in shambles at the airport," Ali said. "For God's sake, take care of the worried people, the relatives of those who were on the unfortunate plane. They have no information and are just running here and there."

Saqlain Altaf told Pakistan's ARY news channel that he was on a family outing in the hills when he saw the plane looking unsteady in the air. "The plane had lost balance, and then we saw it going down," he said, adding that he heard the crash.

Officials at first thought it was a small plane, but later revised that. George said 146 passengers were on the flight along with six crew members.

Raheel Ahmed, a spokesman for the airline, said an investigation would be launched, but that for now the focus was to find survivors. The plane was no more than eight years old, and it had no known technical issues, Ahmed said. He added that to his knowledge, the pilots had not sent any emergency signals.

Airblue flies within Pakistan as well as internationally to the United Arab Emirates, Oman and the United Kingdom.

The only previous recorded accident for Airblue, a carrier that began flying in 2004, was a tailstrike in May 2008 at Quetta airport by one of the airline's Airbus 321 jets. There were no casualties and damage was minimal, according to the U.S.-based Aviation Safety Network.

The Airbus 320 family of medium-range jets, which includes the 321 model that crashed Wednesday, is one of the most popular in the world, with about 4,000 jets delivered since deliveries began in 1988.

Twenty-one of the aircraft have been lost in accidents since then, according to the Aviation Safety Network's database. The deadliest was a 2007 crash at landing in Sao Paolo by Brazil's TAM airline, in which all 187 people on board perished, along with 12 others on the ground.

The last major plane crash in Pakistan was in July 2006 when a Fokker F-27 twin-engine aircraft operated by Pakistan International Airlines slammed into a wheat field on the outskirts of the central Pakistani city of Multan, killing all 45 people on board.

In August 1989, another PIA Fokker, with 54 people onboard, went down in northern Pakistan on a domestic flight. The plane's wreckage was never found.

In September 1992, a PIA Airbus A300 crashed into a mountain in Nepal, killing all 167 people on board. Investigators found the plane was flying 1,500 feet lower than it reported as it approached the Katmandu airport.

Mshitakiwa huyo alifikishwa mbele ya Hakimu Mwajuma Diwani wa Mahakama ya Mwanzo Kariakoo jijini Dar es Salaam jana, na kusomewa shitaka hilo.

Akisoma hati ya mashitaka, karani wa mahakama hiyo, Caphren Maduhu, alidai mbele ya hakimu Diwani kuwa mshtakiwa alifanya kitendo hicho Mei 2 mwaka huu.

Mshitakiwa: Nilipolichukua lile ua na kulibeba ndipo walinzi waliniona na baada ya kuniona walinzi hao walibaki wakitetemeka huku mimi nikiwa nimeshikilia ua na ndipo waliponikamata na kunichukulia hatua.

Woods still highest earning athlete

Professional golfer Tiger Woods has been off his game since his extramarital affairs were exposed last year, but he's still the world's highest earning athlete, according to the 2010 rankings.

Woods claimed the top spot on a US list of 50 athletes for the seventh consecutive year, though his total earnings fell 10 per cent to £59.53 million, according to Sports Illustrated.

His total is also down 40 per cent from £84.15m in 2008.

The US magazine publishes separate lists for US and global athletes, but you can see the overall top 10 at the bottom of the article.

Tennis star Roger Federer, at £40.63m, bumped football player David Beckham from the top spot he had held the last two years on the international list.

On that international list, Federer jumped from number nine last year as his earnings doubled, while Beckham slipped to number three at £26.64m, behind FIFA world player of the year Lionel Messi at £28.95m.

Rounding out the international top five were Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo (£26.31m) and boxer Manny Pacquiao (£24.99m).

Federer was second overall in the rankings but Beckham is only seventh.

Overall, the average earnings for the entire US list of 50 athletes rose 11 per cent to a record £17.25m, and were up 1.7 per cent to £19.7m for 20 international stars.

Woods's earnings for the 2010 list are comprised of £13.5m in earnings and £46.08m in endorsements from such sponsors as Nike Inc and Electronic Arts Inc. Woods's endorsement earnings fell £14.48m from last year's list.

Woods's personal life took centre stage for fans after a car accident outside his Florida home last November brought to light extramarital affairs and led him to make a public apology. He has played several tournaments since his April return from a self-imposed, five-month exile but has yet to win.

Rival golfer Phil Mickelson came in second on the 2010 US list (third overall) at £40.56m, and the US top 10 included four players from the NBA, led by LeBron James at number four (£30.12m).

The US top 10 also included boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr (number three at £39.64m), two Major League Baseball stars, including Alex Rodriguez at number five (£24.34m), and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning of the National Football League (number nine at £20.28m).

Basketball player Allen Iverson, number eight on last year's US list, dropped entirely out of the top 50.

Tennis player Maria Sharapova was the only female athlete to make either list, ranking number 20 on the international list at £13.1m.

IMEFAHAMIKA, kuwa idadi ya wanaume wa Kitanzania wenye mbegu za uzazi
zisizorutubisha hivyo kutoweza kurutubisha yai la mwanamke na kusababisha mimba
inaongezeka. Kwa mujibu wa gazeti la ‘ The Citizen’ toleo la Jumamosi ( Leo),
Julai 17,2010 zaidi ya asilimia 35 ya wanaume wanaofanya vipimo vya rutuba za
mbegu za uzazi wamegundulika kuwa hawana.

Mara nyingi lawama za kukosa mtoto katika familia zimekuwa zikielekezwa kwa
mwanammke kutokana na wanaume wengi kutokuwa na ujasiri wa kujitokeza kupima
rutuba zao. Mazingira ya kazi, Mtindo wa maisha na hata hata kukaa kwa muda
mrefu kwenye chumba chenye mvuke ni baadhi ya sababu zinazochangia wanaume
kupungikwa rutuba za mbegu za uzazi.

Katika jiji la Dar es Salaam pekee, inaaminika kuwa ni asilimia 24.9 tu ya
wanaume wa Dar es Salaam walio na mbegu za uzazi zenye rutuba, hivyo, wenye
uwezo wa kurutubisha yai la mwanamke na hivyo basi, mimba kutokea.
Utafiti huo umefanywa na Idara ya Jinikolojia ya Hospitali ya Taifa Ya
Muhimbili.
